An oral cancer screening is a quick and painless exam. Your dentist will review pertinent health history information, medications and checks your mouth, throat, and neck for any unusual spots, sores, or lumps using therapeutic palpation. Special lights or tools may be used to see areas more clearly. The function of your cranial nerves will also be tested. This exam helps to detect problems early, when treatment is most effective.
-
We’ll start by reviewing your health history, including medications, allergies, and habits that may affect your oral health. We’ll assess your cranial nerve function and complete a thorough oral, head and neck cancer screening. The dentist will then carefully examine your teeth, gums, tongue, jaw, and surrounding areas to check for any concerns. We’ll evaluate your gum health, how your teeth fit together, and how your jaw is functioning (integrative therapies screening). Digital X-rays or 3D imaging may be taken to look for issues below the surface. We’ll also review your daily oral care routine and recommend helpful products. Finally, we’ll explain what we find and create a personalized plan to maintain your oral wellness.

Your saliva tells an important story about your oral and overall health. This simple, non-invasive saliva test helps us understand factors like bacteria levels, acidity, and your risk for cavities, gum disease, and dry mouth.
Using your personalized results, we’ll provide a one-to-one consultation with clear, easy-to-understand recommendations tailored specifically to you. This may include custom home-care tips, product suggestions, dietary guidance, and preventive strategies designed to support a healthier smile long-term.

Biopsy consultation is a visit to explain why a biopsy is needed. We’ll review your health history, medications, and allergies, and explain how the procedure will be done. You’ll learn what to expect, any risks involved, and how to prepare before your appointment. We’ll also answer your questions so you feel informed and comfortable moving forward.

This in-depth assessment looks beyond your teeth to understand how your jaw, airway, muscles, and breathing work together. During the examination, we screen for TMJ concerns, airway and breathing issues, and myofunctional (oral muscle) imbalances that may affect comfort, sleep, and overall wellness.
Based on our findings, we create a clear, personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs—helping guide you toward improved function, comfort, and long-term health in a supportive, patient-focused way.
